Getting there

The University is situated 17 miles from Shannon Airport, making it easily accessible from all over the world. Aer Lingus (the national airline) operate direct flights from London (Heathrow) and Manchester, and via Dublin, from most other airports in the UK. Aer Lingus also operate direct flights from New York (JFK) and Boston, with direct flights from Atlanta and Miami being operated by Delta and Aeroflot, respectively. Aeroflot also operate direct flights to Shannon from Moscow, Stockholm and Luxembourg, while Aer Lingus operate flights to Shannon, via Dublin, from major European capitals.

Taxis (about IR£18) and regular bus services (total cost IR£5) are convenient means of getting to the University from Shannon airport. In addition, it is planned that a ZUM'95 coach will collect delegates from the airport on the morning of Monday 4th September and the afternoon of Wednesday 6th September. (Please advise us of the number and time of your flight as soon as possible so that we can try to accommodate as many people as possible.) Further details (including detailed time-tables) will be sent with confirmation of your registration.

Accommodation at the recently-completed Kilmurray student village is offered as part of the conference package on a first-come first-served basis. Some double rooms are available. Alternatively, there are several excellent hotels and guest-houses in Limerick. We will send, on request, a list of hotels and guest houses, giving contact details, rates and distance from the University. The 5-star Castletroy Park Hotel, situated just minutes walk from the conference venue, is likely to be heavily booked at the time, so early booking is advisable. An optional boat trip on the River Shannon on Friday evening includes dinner and entertainment. Numbers are strictly limited to 100, and offered on a first-come first-served basis. Spouses or other guests are welcome if space permits.
